Associate Professor Nualnoi Treerat is an Economist and Director of the Institute of Asian Studies, Chulalongkorn University. She received her Ph.D. from Australian National University. Her general research interests are public finance, international trade and investment, economic development, and illegal economy. 

She has published several books and articles such as A Dynamic Computable General Equilibrium Model for Thai Economy (1994); Social Exclusion: a case study of Thailand (1994), Impact of the Return of Hongkong to China on Thai Economy (1995); Guns, Girls, Gambling, Ganja : Thailand’s Illegal Economy and Public Policy (1998); A Study of Economic Impact of the European Directive on the Legal Protection of Biotechnological Inventions (1999); International Trade and Corruption Thailand (1999); Fight against Corruption (2001); Thailand’s Unexpected Crisis (2003); Corruption, Rent and Economic Development (2003); Controlling Corruption in Thailand: Transforming the Problems and Paradoxes (2004); Khun Charoen and the liquor industry through crisis and liberalization (2008); Thaksin Shinawatra and Mass Media (2009); Politics and Balance of Power in Thailand Coverage Universal Coverage Health Care System (2012); and Elite Networking Through Special Executive Courses (2014), and Very Distinguished Alumni: Thai Political Networking (2016).
